To seek resources to include during instruction. I sent a district wide email in search of anyone who may have various sand collections that wouldnt mind my classroom borrowing for a two week period. I asked if they knew anyone outside the in community if they could please have them contact me or provide me with their contact information. Seeking resources to use within this unit. Whether it be a form of multimedia/technology or written.

Students were able to view a wide variety of sands from all over the country as well different places around the world. Great learning opportunity.

I had to return the sand samples so I hand delivered them back to each person.

To discuss the upcoming unit and seek their advice in differentiated instruction. Since this paraeducator is in other classes, particularly another science classroom I wanted to see if she had suggestions on adaptions to include for my focus students. Parent/Teacher conference we had a conversation about his lack of motivation and his low self-confidence and the ways I planned on trying to motivate him and build his selfconfidence. Student was extremely frustrated while taking the preassessment I wanted to reach out to help her calm down.

Great advice for differentiation instruction/adaptions for future lessons.

Established a positive relationship with his mother. She was very grateful and pleased to hear that I had noticed him and cared about him enough to have a plan in place to help her son. Student was able to calm down and finish the assessment to the best of her ability.

Will continue to keep in touch to build relationship. Will continue these one-onones to help build selfconfidence and trust.
