There will be five sections to your employee evaluation. On each of these five sections, I have written various ideas/behaviors/traits that may help you to evaluate your fictitious employee. You do not have to use all of those ideas in each of the sections. Use what you need to create an informative and realistic evaluation in each of the five sections. 1. Identify the employee 2. Attendance/punctuality issues A. Amount of absences B. Amount of late arrivals/early departures C. On task at the beginning of the workday/end of the workday D. Completes work on time 3. Communications A. Listens B. Follows directions C. Reads electronic messages D. Responds to electronic messages E. Speaks specifically; states facts rather than clichs F. Speaks positively G. Does not complain chronically or whine H. When addressing problems makes specific, objective comments I. Written work is stated with conventional language and spelling 4. Performance A. Understands and performs the basic duties of the job. B. Understands and performs advanced duties C. Capably fills in for others in related positions D. Initiativedoes the employee show initiative and perform duties that relate to the major activities and objectives of the company without being instructed to do so E. Cooperates when supervised or when working in teams F. Participates in training and evaluation sessions G. Meets deadlines 5. Overall descriptive rating (formative evaluation) A. Statement of overall performance B. Level of output meets the standards set C. Major activities D. Accomplishments E. Progress since last evaluation F. Recommendations for future improvement/development
