Planning My Film - Health Safety Risk Assessments Recce
RECCE
For our short film, we went to several locations to do a recce in order to find an appropriate and suitable location for our short film. After inspecting three locations, we came to a conclusion that Thamesmead will be our primary location. We decided to shoot our short film in Thamesmead for numerous reasons and one being that the location shows the deprived environments of young teenagers that are struggling to live in London. Secondly, the theme of the film focuses on money and the area itself is in a bit of a shamble and has money problems of its own hence the reason why I think the theme and the location share a common aspect. Thirdly, most of the production crew reside in Thamesmead, so it would be easier for the transportation of the equipments. This location was suitable as well because there were local restaurants and toilets near available in case there was a food shortage or a production member wanted to use the toilet. The location also is surrounded by a quiet environment away from traffics, train tracks and factories. Nevertheless, the only noise that could possibly be heard would be airplanes because there are airports near the location where planes pass by frequently. In addition, were shooting in the same house as one of our production members so we can use their house for any personal needs and food. Before shooting in Thamesmead we need permission from the Thamesmead council to get appropriate releases and permits for the locations and make sure that the proper insurance is in place. Our second location choice is in Eltham and this also matches the Urban London look we are searching for and has good array of housing estates we can use. This is second choice as Eltham is closer to the college so easier to carry equipment there. The reason why our first location might not work is because it is too crowded and we might not have permission from gallions reach which is Thamesmead housing association to use the apartments whilst it is guaranteed that our second location will be available. However, if worst comes to worse then we will have to use Thamesmead as our primary filming location. We also chose this location as our second choice because cell phones also work in the area making it easier to access other production members if there are any problems encountered. Before also shooting Eltham, we will need consent from the local council of Eltham and make sure the proper insurance is in consigned.
Name Solomon James as Trife Babatunde Age 16 Background British African Relatives Father (unknown); Mother (deceased); Brother Education Dismissed from college Personality Stubborn; arrogant; self-motivated Hobbies - Money Motivated Favourite lesson - Maths and Physical Education (Sprinting)
Solomon James Solomon plays the arrogant younger brother of Tyrone, Trife. Play Ard production wasnt really up for it when he wanted this role especially because he plays around too much and doesnt seem to take things seriously. But, he was able to impress us due to his chivalrousness. We thought that since Trife is supposed to be an arrogant, stubborn and self-motivated boy with unpleasing attitude, maybe if we chose someone completely with Trifes reverse personality would probably fill that role. A humble, broad -minded and a lazy teenager would probably do the job and Solomon was that person, easily becoming Trife in an instant. -

Tyrones Friend (Vash) Tyrones friend who hasnt made an appearance in the short film but he is shown to the audience through Tyrones thoughts as he tells him the whereabouts of the money.
