Being my first timenervous obout I ond being o sophomore, of course, lwos whether or nof I knew enough to do o good job. I lived in the Morymount Monhqtton, o college dorm rented to interns through Educotionol Housing Services. I met fellow interns ond we explored the city together moking memories outside of work. The office wos smoller; ond with only five other interns I built relotionships ond leorn through honds-on experiences. My doily tosks included clipping (toking o client hit in o publicotion, extrocting it ond formotting it to be sent to the client), onswering phones, working on projects ond events, creoting recops of oll current PR-reloted news to send to employees ond keeping up the medio librory. ldrofted press releoses ond medio pitches, compiled medio lists using Cision ond mode foce sheets ond press lists for events. The occouni executives were quite porticulor ond wonted everything ASAP. lmportont clients such os Noturo Bisse, the W Hotels, Hord Rock Hotel ond Cosino, Tinsley Mortimet, Potron ond Relois & Choteoux mode my job exciiing since I knew the work I did wos octuolly being used.
Our office olso moved locotions so I hod to be reody to do onything, even pocking ond corrying boxes. Although lwos only there for eight weeks, I hod o blost while working ond meeting owesome people ond leorned q lot qbout myself. One of the internship coordinotors soid she wos impressed thot I stoyed cool under pressure ond took consiructive criticism well, which wos iruly flottering.
