6.6 B&C Relationships of angles and circles involving radius, diameter, and circumference

Mixed warp up review: Have each student answer atleast 2-3 questions per section. If you have a student who completes two have them go back and work a few more to improve their speed.

The students will work with a partner and go to various staions around the room to answer questions about angles and circles. They wll work out the problems on their white boards and they have to check their answers with the teacher before they are able to move onto the next station.

Each student will receive a 8 questions to complete on their own. As they finsih please check over their work to ensure they have master the TEKS

SE # & Description 6.11 Compare and contrast the sturcture and viewpoint of two different authors writing for the same purpose, noting the stated claim and supporting evidence.

Warm-Up You will use the selected passage to warm up with the students, they need to make sure they are highlighting important indformation and that they are also numbering the paragraphs and recording thought and paraphrasing each paragraph out to the side.

Guided Practice We will read aloud two books, Mercedes and the chocolatepilot and bxes for katje, We will then work together to complete a Venn diagram on ways the story is alike and how it is different. We will also talk about figurative language in the book.

Independent Practice The students will then answer the following quesitons: * How are the suthor's viewpoints in ___ and __ alike/different. * What do the author's purposes in these two books have in common? * 'how di the authors of _ and _ structure their writing differently? * How are the claims presented by the tow authors alike/ different?
