Essay Rubric All essays are graded on a scale of 1-30; this does not necessarily reflect the total

point value of the essay, but rather is an indicator of grade on a percentage scale. Content 18 points, or 60% of total grade 18 points Essay is organized in a clear and logical manner. Claims and warrants are explicit and sufficient in number. 15-17 points Essay is essentially organized well. Claims and warrants may not be explicit, or too few in number. 13-14 points Significant problems in organization. May include claims without warrants or vice versa. Claims and warrants are vague. 12 points Essay is in need of revision. Organization is illogical. Claims and/or warrants are missing entirely. Grammar 12 points, or 40% of total grade 12 points No grammatical mistakes whatsoever 11 points One grammatical mistake 10 points Two grammatical mistakes 9 points Three grammatical mistakes 8 points Four grammatical mistakes 7 points Five grammatical mistakes 6 points Six or more grammatical mistakes needs serious revision
