Objectives

Describe the position of the planets in relation to the sun o B Identify the four planets in our solar system closest to the sun o H Compare distances of the sun and moon to Earth o S and B Interact with a model of the solar system o L Students should be able to identify and name all of the planets. Students should be able to describe the position of the planets in relation to the sun. SSBAT identify the four planets in our solar system closest to the sun SSBAT distinguish the size difference between the sun and the moon.

Planet Booklets Pencil Crayons Promethean Board YouTube Video Planet PowerPoint Monday Review a Planet PowerPoint o Look at the pictures of all of the planets and have the students describe what they see. o Read the Mercury and Venus PowerPoint slides. o Students will receive a planet booklet and work on the title page as well as draw a picture of what the planets look like and write one interesting fact that we read about on the planet.
