NAME: The name of the institution was changed from Mount Union College in 2010. ACCREDITATION: University of Mount Union, founded in 1846, is a four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Additional Accreditations: * American Chemical Society * Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education - CAATE * National Association of Schools of Music - NASM * National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education - NCATE * Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. - ARC-PA * Ohio Board of Regents * University Senate of the United Methodist Church CALENDAR: The academic year consists of a fall semester, a spring semester and three summer sessions. ACADEMIC STANDING: Good academic standing requires a certain GPA for the number of hours attempted: Fewer than 29 semester hours 1.600 GPA 29 44.99 semester hours 1.750 GPA 45 59.99 semester hours 1.900 GPA 60 or more semester hours 2.000 GPA Students are eligible to re-enroll unless they have been suspended or dismissed from the University.
