Prototype Build Procedure

1.Find Necessary Tools and Materials

In order for the prototype building process to start, we must first find all of the necessary parts needed to build it, and organize them.

2. Construct Chassis out of Vex

For our first prototypes, we constructed a chassis for them out of the available Vex parts based on previously discussed designs.

3. Customize Vex Metal Sheets

Our later prototypes needed custom pieces in order to maximize their utility, and as such we bent and cut certain Vex pieces in order to make them work.

4. Attach gears and servos for motion

After building the body, we needed to provide motion to the turrets and rovers, so we attached gears and motors.

5. Attach accessories ex. Camera

Being the surveillance system it is, we needed to add a camera to each for both control and surveillance. For the rover we added two Nerf guns, while we added an air compressor and barrel to the sentry turret.

6. Wiring and Programming

The last step in the process was wiring every system together, and programming them to a controller, and possibly program pre-set motions.
