Discussion We discussed: Group project We voted and finalized our decision to work with The Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington-Normal. We talked about raising money for them to buy something for the kids to have at the facility like a pool table. We discussed our options of raising money and/or putting in volunteer hours. o In the discussion, we leaned towards doing volunteer hours, and decided it would be better to do it together instead of individually. We decided to e-mail the professor to ask who to contact at The Boys and Girls Club.

o Julie is going to call them, and ask them if they would like us to do anything specific (whether they need volunteers or fundraising, and report back to the rest of the group next week. We discussed the possibility of having to fundraise, and who we would go to and ask for donations. We discussed the mission statement, and contributed ideas for it. We decided on our mission statement to be: Our mission is to give back to the community with our efforts and time. We started our website and created a logo. Team roles and name Cody decided to double up with Josh as the two treasurers. We agreed to keep our team name as the COM-ITS (Comets) We made a logo for our group. Project proposal Together, we read through the directions for the proposal. Everyone contributed to the proposal during this meeting. o We all contributed ideas for the mission statement. o We contributed rules for the Code of Conduct. Our first SMART goal: Our goal is to each contribute ten hours of volunteer work or 700 dollars in total funds to the Boys & Girls Club We talked about different options for our second and third goal. o We discussed gaining skills, adding more hours to our total, and learn from each other. We decided on our second and third goal. Discussed the day that well decide if we need to go to our fallback plan or continue with what were doing. Reflection paper We are going video chat through Google on Sunday to talk about the reflection paper.

o Julie brought an HMDI cord to the meeting so we could hook up Codys computer to a TV screen so we could all see while he was typing our Reflection Paper. Discussion We discussed: Time-line for project Reflection paper o Cody typed the reflection paper, but we all contributed to what we wanted to say. o We read over the article again together, and agreed that the basic concept of our Reflection Paper is Socialization. o Our event was about our introductions and first meeting. o We related quotes from the book to our experience in our first meeting, and how we created a culture for our group. o We related the article about socialization to our first meeting. o We contacting Grant from the Boys and Girls Club via phone call. o Grant made many great suggestions as to how we could raise the money. He also put us into contact with Jenny Hall. She is the coordinator for fundraising at the Boys and Girls Club. o Dynae and Maddie also made many great suggestions as to how we could raise the money. Next meeting At our next meeting, we will discuss and work on our formal letter that we will use to raise donations. 2/27

When & Where Meeting was held in DeGarmo in The Studio on the 3rd floor on Wednesday, February 27th at 6pm.Everyone attended Next meeting is on Tuesday March 4th immediately after class in the same lecture hall. Central Goal of Meeting Goal: Create a donation letter that we will be able to send to possible donors What People Need to Bring: Everyone brought what they needed. For next week: bring computers, pens, etc. Group members who meet with Megan, bring answers to questions. Discussion We discussed the donation letter, but we also discussed the option of making a donation website. We looked into gofundme.com and Paypal.com and were thinking about linking up with the Boys & Girls Club PayPal account to raise money. We came up with a list of questions to ask Megan in our meeting with her tomorrow.
