How to get to Bedgebury Pinetum: Road: Signposted off the A21 on the B2079, 12 miles South-east of Tunbridge Wells and 16 miles North-west of Hastings. There are nine designated bays. Road Map: www.streetmap.co.uk Enter TQ724330 into the address toolbar. Route description: Start: From the car park follow the path down towards the lake and at the junction turn left. Continue ahead on the path with the lake to your right entering the pinetum. A At the crossroads continue ahead to reach the fork in the path. B After the bridge turn right and follow the path ahead to the fork in the path. C Turn left at the fork, following the red footprint way marker until reaching the gate. D Go through the gate and turn right up the hill to reach the T junction. Path shared with cyclists. E Turn left at the T junction to reach the Go-Ape hut. F At the Go-Ape hut turn right, and continue down the pathway to the visitor centre. Finish

For a shorter route of 0.6miles (0.9km) turn right at the crossroads (A) for the easy access trail.

Points of interest: 1 Prior to the 19th century, willow trees were used to treat headaches and fevers. 2 The National Pinetum at Bedgebury has the finest collection of conifers on one site anywhere in the world.
