This candid photo was taken in pre-war Nazi

Germany. It was originally in black and white

but has been brilliantly restored with modern
technology. The man in the chair is Josef
Goebbels, Adolf Hitler's minister of propaganda.
He was instrumental in dispersing Nazi
propaganda. Hitler's regime may not have been
possible without him. The photo was taken
without his immediate knowledge or consent,
and it was taken just after Goebbels found out
that the photographer was Jewish.

subject being discussed.

orderly (standing next to Josef)
He is using proxemics, he is standing close
to Josef because he is sharing a message
intended for only these three men
Josef Goebbels
He is using Kinesics to express hate
Analysis
The second orderly is standing close to Josef in order
to assure that his message is thoroughly
communicated and not shared with the people
standing nearby, especially the photographer. One of
the orderlies just told Goebbels that Eisenbach (the
photographer) is Jewish. All three men wear looks that
are rampant with hatred and Goebbels glares at
Eisenbach with eyes that would pierce one's heart,
because Goebbels was perhaps even more anti-
Semitic than Hitler himself. He was listening to his
orderly but now is taking a moment to shoot daggers
with his eyes. But Eisenbach simply snaps a picture in
spite.
