Standard Operating
System
Cord operation including cleat. Specify for sidewinder where required.
Headboard 40mm Craft-wood
Operation Polyester cord tied to engineering grade plastic clips ftted to the bottom rear
batten. The cord glides through same type of clips tted to intermediate battens,
which raises and lowers the blind (cord-lock or sidewinder).
Pelmet Self pelmet 200mm valance, same fabric as blind.
Set Spacing First Batten @ 270mm.
All others, battens 200mm apart to ensure equal spacing throughout the entire home.
No other batten spacing will be accepted.
Always stipulate if batten matching required.
Bottom spacing will be between 51mm and 250mm.
Cannot batten match blinds ftted at different heights.
Cording Cord falls under valance and in front or rear of blind for easier use.
UV stable rings connected to battens at rear of blind.
Cord fxed to bottom ring and threaded through intermediate rings (every second
batten) to raise and lower the blind (both for sidewinder and headboard systems).
Blinds with even number of battens will have the top batten corded as well as
every second batten.
Self Pelmet 200mm valance in same fabric as blind.
Main blind material now stapled to rear of headboard, allowing for pelmet at the
front of the blind.
Fabric is closer to the wall creating a neater fnish.
Important Information
Fabric Patterns For patterned fabric, the pattern grain wont usually line up perfectly with the horizontal
or vertical edges of the blind. Expect to see variation of up to a few centimetres along
the pattern direction from one side of the blind to the other.
Sometimes the pattern may also give the impression that it is out of square at the points
where the fabric rolls into the batten pockets.
Settling All roman blinds settle out after installation. The fabric type and the size and weight of the
blind all affect the degree to which a blind settles out, and environmental factors also
come into play. Because the process of settling out is a little unpredictable, the nal drop of
the blind may vary by up to +/- 10mm
Light Bleed All blinds allow light to pass around the sides of the blind (even when blockout fabric is used).
This is because a small operating clearance must be left around both sides of the blind.
To reduce light around the sides: If practical make the blind wider than it needs to be
(when face ftting) so that the blind covers more area around the window.
Using a head rail with a smaller projection will also help to reduce the amount of light
that sneaks around the sides of the blind.
Pinholing If you order a Sorrento or Kimono blind made from blockout fabric, then pinholes of light
will show through the blind wherever stitching occurs as there is no additional lining.
