1 1/2 yards 3/8 coordinatng ribbon

Large Safety Pin
Very light weight tear-away stabilizer 16
x 16 (optonal for stfer basket)
Step 1. Using a rotary cuter (or scissors) cut 2
pieces of fabric and 1 piece of stabilizer (optonal)
16 x 16 square.
Step 2. Fold ribbon in half and cut on fold.
Step 3. Place fabric
pieces right sides to-
gether. If you use the
stabilizer, place it on
top of both
fabrics.

Step 6. Using a 1/4 inch presser foot as
a guide, sttch all around the square be-
ing careful to sttch the open area
closed.
Step 4. Using 1/4 inch seam, sew around edges, leaving about 5 inches
on one side for turning.
Step 7. Decide which fabric you want for the
faps to show. Lay that side of the fabric face
down up the table. Fold one corner in towards the
opposite corner. The fold should measure 4 from
the center of the fold to the point. See picture to
the lef.
Step 5. Clip corners as shown and turn inside
out. Press, making sure you turn the open area
neatly inside.

Step 8. Use your ruler to make sure the points are in a straight line. Pin to hold.
Go around the square and measure every corner in to measure 4 and pin.
Make sure each folded point is in line with the opposite point. Your project
should look like the photo on the right when you have all the folding and pinning
done.
Step 9. Using your presser foot as a guide, edge sttch only on the coordinatng
fabric, then top sttch 1/2 inch away from the frst sttching, again, only on the
coordinatng fabric.

Step 10. Take one piece of ribbon, pin the
safety pin to it and slide it through the casing
you just made and then slide it through the
next casing. Take the next piece of ribbon and
run it through the next two casings. Gather
up the ribbon (pull both ends) and te a bow
with the ends of the ribbons.
Hint: If you have a diferent way to run the
ribbon through the casing, use it. The safety
pin is doable but it is a bit difcult. I used a
small alligator surgical clamp, or a Fast Turn
tool will work also.
Fill your basket with potpourri or your favorite treat. It will even
be useful for some fresh baked cookies. Afer all, its completely
washable.
