Nonstandard activity recording sheet Dry Erase Markers Writing lined paper Cubes Paperclips Glue sticks Shoes Items around the classroom to measure Pencils Crayons
Procedure:
12:15 1. Pass out activity recording sheet, name and crayon 2. Students to rug and introduce lesson. 3. Students estimate the length of teacher in shoes. 4. A student will be chosen at random to model measuring the teacher in shoes. 5. Students record actual foot prints long 6. Students partner up, estimate and measure each other in footprints. 7. Students return to seats and color pictures. 12:40 1. Call students back to rug 2. Show next activity recording sheet 3. Explain and model the use of paper clips, cubes, glue sticks and shoes to measure a desk, reading book and pencil. 4. Students and partner go to stations to measure using the nonstandard measuring tools. 5. Choose other objects to measure. 1:05 1.
