Hamlets ghost

In act one of Hamlet a ghost appears before the night guards. This ghost is dressed in
the recently departed kings' armor. This alludes to the ghost maybe being the king. It
also symbolizes that unrest is coming to the kingdom. When the ghost is viewed by the
young prince Hamlet, he identifies it as his father. When he speaks to the ghost it tells
Hamlet that Claudius, the kings brother, killed him. This is very troubling for Hamlet as
he is now the only one who knows this information and has no way of knowing if its true

In the play, the ghost is the most significant element in act one. Without the ghost ever
coming there would be no story. Act one of Hamlet serves to provide us the conflict of
the story. As well it introduces us to the characters and determines their roles as
antagonist and protagonist. In this act we learn prince hamlet is the hero trying to
avenge his father. Claudius is the jealous uncle who poisons the king, his brother, and
takes over. Gertrude is Hamlets mother, and now aunt. Horatio is Hamlets close friend
and who talks to the ghost first. And Ophelia is who Hamlet loves. These are the most
significant character thus far. They are also my proof for why The Lion King is the
Disney version of Hamlet. Simba is Hamlet, Mufasa is the late King Hamlet, Scar is
Claudius, Sarabi is Gertrude, and Ophelia is Nala. In conclusion, and yes I used in
conclusion. I propose that after reading Hamlet we should be aloud to watch the Lion
King in class. It is appropriate for school as well as educational to the story of Hamlet.
By this I mean that it simplifies the Shakespearean version of Hamlet and simplifies the
story from the ye olde English version. Which we can all agree is not akuna mutata.
Because frankly Shakespeare always worries me.

The beginning of Hamlet shows the weakness of Hamlet. We see him as a pouty
young prince who doesnt seem capable of running the Kingdom. This builds for his
transformation through the journey that is now ahead of him. Rather than presenting us
with a strong character that is ready to tackle the turmoil that surrounds him.
Shakespeare gives us a character that must battle with the conflicts inside himself,
while attempting to set things right. Hamlet is our tragic hero who will set things right,
but at the cost of his life.
