Welcome to the 82
nd
Annual Eastern Region Convention of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Since its founding in 1906, Alpha Phi Alpha has provided enormous strength and vision for
African-Americans and people of color around the world. This years focus on Reconciling
Leadership & Brotherhood will provide you with an excellent opportunity to develop leaders in
your community, while empowering and energizing your members.

Your work over the course of the weekend to promote academic excellence and provide service
and advocacy to your communities will go far beyond the walls of your convention. The annual
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Impact Day is an important resource to our communities
and Maryland is richer because of it. Marylands greatest assets are the skills and talents of our
people and your members are dedicated to expanding opportunity to countless individuals
through your endeavors. Your dedication and commitment is what builds a better, brighter future
for the next generation of citizens.
