FOR EDUCATI ON 6096 PROJECT Students to Target: Using Acuity Data to Improve performance Math Data Common Elements Math had the largest of the two areas for improvement over Language Arts. Sixth, Fifth, Third and Second have the largest groups with Sixth and Fifth having the most. Many students made progress, however they did not make it to the Tier 3 level. This indicates that many of these students continue to struggle with math concepts. Most students are ELL students, some are resource, some are general education students.
Math Data Grade levels focused on aides working closely with students at these levels showed some progress toward improvement in student performance. The more focused the approach by the grade level the better the overall improvement by the students in the Tier 1 level. Followed up small group instruction by the classroom teacher also ensured improvements in student performance. Language Arts Data Less students in Tier 1 on the screeners than math. 2 nd and 5 th showed significant improvements in the number of students reaching Tier 3. These two grade levels also had the most students in a Tier 1 level of performance. Small group and power hour focused on literacy and comprehension skills Again, power hours focused on aides working in one aspect with students in identified groups and with these students getting small group instruction four of five school days each week are identifiable reasons for the growth. Some holes in data at some grade levels with inconsistency on Language Arts Screeners being done. We must have fidelity to the process. Math Data by Grade Level Review of 6 th Grade 6 of 19 students made it out of Tier 1 for the 3 rd Screener or roughly 32% of students who were at Tier 1. Several made significant progress. 7 of the 19 students were ELL and 5 are resource students. Graphs On all graphs percentage is listed on the left, student identification is listed on the bottom. A copy of grade level graphs including student names are in your folders.

How are you using your aides to help you drive student performance in these two areas? Specifically how as a classroom teacher, what are you doing to drive these students instructions? Finally what can be improved upon in your classroom and grade level to drive instruction?
