TO: All Members, Stewards, Chief Stewards
The National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) S t a m p Ou t
H u n g e r N a t i o n a l F o o d D r i v e is
held annually on the second Saturday in May. The drive helps stock local
community food banks, pantries and shelters with non-perishable food items that
our Letter Carriers collect along their mail routes.
This drive, has become the worlds largest one-day food drive, and was started
by the NALC in 1991 along with the U. S. Postal Service and the AFL-CIO. The
United Way also became a full partner in 1994. The CWA and our Local
wholeheartedly supports this worthy drive.
So, please remember this date, SATURDAY, May 10
th
and please leave
non-perishable food near your mailbox for your Letter Carrier to pick-up to help
our local Food Banks!
In these difficult economic times, it is more important than ever to come together
as a community and help one another.
