Project Name: Friendship Networking Event (FNE)

PCFCs Mission
PCFC is a friendship club for Filipino & Chinese students and young professionals
with the mission to build and to strengthen their friendship through fun and
meaningful events. Through various ongoing projects, we reach out to friends and
supporters all across China and the Philippines to help us achieve our objectives. Our
programs are open to all students and young professionals in China who subscribe to the
values of friendship inscribed in our website: www.pcfc.weebly.com.

Details of Event
The Friendship Network Event aims to be an annual event for the members of PCFC,
their friends, and supporters to celebrate the establishment of the Philippine-China
Bilateral Relationship in June 9, 1972. It will also represent as an annual networking
event for companies and organizations to partner with PCFC and be introduced to the
talents of its members. The event also aims to be a fundraising event intended to fund
the programs and objectives of PCFC for the rest of the year.

PCFC, through this event, aims to connect and bring together companies, organizations,
and talents who have like-minded needs, in this case, those with interest in China and
the Philippines, so that both parties can benefit from the friendships of such individuals.
There will be programs and sharing-sessions throughout the night including the
presentation of theses of graduating students, accomplishments of PCFC and its
partners, and the needs of its sponsors. Care will be taken to see that goodwill and
convenience are taken care of for all parties concerned.

Event will include:
Identifying prospective Employers-Employees
Presentation of resumes of members and needs of companies
Presentation of final thesis of each of the graduating members
Showcase of Filipino and Chinese cultural programs
Interviews and Follow-ups
Portion of the profits will be donated to a like-minded charity

This program is targeted for June 2, 2014 (Monday from 6-8 PM), and depending on its
response and success, we plan to continue it further if the need so arises. There will also
be continuous monitoring of employers and employees alike so as to ensure progress for
all parties involved.

Expenses: 20,000 RMB
Profit: 30,000 RMB
Charity Donation: 2,000 RMB
Profit: 28,000 RMB

Sponsors (Cash-Givers)
Ex:5 Chinese owned /5 Filipino owned companies
Gold: 10,000 RMB; Silver: 5,000 RMB; Bronze: 2,500 RMB (See Sample
Sponsorship file attached).
Target: 50% of companies must be enrolled by May 20. Otherwise revisions to
the event may be required.
Partners (In-Kind)
Ex: Filipino Department PKU, CRI, Embassy/Consulates, DOTs
Memorandum of Understanding to include clear contribution of partners i.e. venue,
advertisement-space, etc.
We understand that these organizations may not be able to provide cash at this
time, but it is also a real privilege to partake on an event such as FNE, so for them
to be part of the success, it is but fair for them to give something in-kind. We
need to market our events as such.
Supporters (In-Kind)
Ex: Austins Friend who works in Baidu can give some wifi-usbs. Austins friend
named Gao Zerong wants to try to sell his Dates ()he can easily donate 5-10
bags which we can use creatively at our event. A friend of yours might have an
extra ipad or cellphone that he got for Christmas, which he would be happy to
donate to a good cause.
Mission of the club is to build friendships between the Filipinos and the Chinese
Friendship thru meaningful events, FNE is a great way to attract these Chinese
friends of ours who have businesses.
Participants (Entry fee)
Ex: PCFC members, non-members, new Pinoys/Chinese, ASEAN friends,
others.
Ideally all PCFC members should have free entrance (this is the benefit of
being a member, but since we dont have a membership fee yet, the
members can give volunteer hours in exchange for a free entrance).
Although they will work at the event, we need to make sure that they
are still able to have ample time to network and enjoy the event just as
paid guests. Non-members will be given a chance to be a member on-
site. The logistics have to take care of these.

Important Reminders:
1. Make sure all leaders/coordinators/assistants memorize mission & vision of PCFC
available at pcfc.weebly.com. So that when a company asks what PCFC is about,
we will speak with one voice.
2. All main ideas at the event should have English and Chinese translations.
3. The blue fonts are handled by the Marketing Committee (MC) led by Bufan. The
red means it is handled by the Logistics led by Renee (LC). The Sponsors box on
the Event Priority Tree includes a blue background which represents that the MC
will be responsible for bringing them to the event; and a red outline which
represents that the LC will take care of them (or offer support to MC) at the actual
event. The Participants box has a red background which means LC is maninly
responsible, which the blue outline means MC will support and make sure LC does
a good job in taking care of the participants.
4. Leaders should work hard to work with the Tags and Pinoys. Even though some of
the Tags or the Pinoys may seem unfriendly at first, as long as they are talented
or willing to help, the challenge is on the leaders to reach out to them.
Motivating other is the test of the leader.
5. The final operations of the event must be ready two (2) days before the actual
event. This means we should schedule a Complete trial run two or three days
before actual event.

Powers & Responsibilities of Committee Leaders
Each of the Committee Leaders (CL) i.e. Bufan and Renee, has the powers to:
1. Choose the members and sub-leaders of their teams.
2. Develop a Project Schedule (see Sample Project Schedule attached).
3. Coordinate working dynamics with each committee and sub-committees.
4. Decide on the details (as long as it fulfills the above objectives).
5. All proceedings and decisions should cc: the EC. If the EC does not present any
written objections within requested deadlines given by the CL, this will
automatically approve the decisions of the CL.
6. Meet with their team members and managed them as needed.
7. Meet with EC for weekly updates (Tentative time: Friday dinner 6pm-7pm).
8. Austin wishes to see the leadership abilities of Bufan and Renee on this event.
This means he plans take a hands-off approach for this event. However it doesnt
mean that he wont be available whenever you guys need help or he sees areas
where his input can really make a difference. Ultimately, as leaders, he has full
faith in your capabilities to Plan, Manage, and Execute (PME.

Initial Batch of Names WARNING
The list below include on initial names. The CL should not rely and restrict themselves
on the names. These are just contacts Austin wrote down to share his resources. The
names with ** mean they have been reported to be experiencing Charity syndrome.
This means they have shown signs of feeling over-used and abused by other
organizations of the Filipino community, which has constantly been asking them for
donations.

As such, we need to branch out and target other companies. It does not mean we
discount the **. We will just treat them no more special than Sinopec or ADB. We
approach them objectively and do not expect a free-ride just because they are Filipino-
owned. If they say yes, thats a great bonus.

At the same time, as FNE will be a successful event, we also want ** to be part of our
event (even if they give minimally) since they have been our past supporters and should
benefit from the success FNE will be able to give to all.
