The Help Ch. Numbers: _________________________________________________ Dialectic Journal: Choose at least FOUR quotations that you think is important or you have a question about and write about why it is. These quotations may later be utilized in your essays. Use the back of your packet sheet if you need to for space. Quotation Comment I want to be frozen inside. I want the icy cold to blow directly on my heart (Stockett 325).
Aibileen smiles at the stack of pages on her kitchen table (Stockett 327).
This aint happening, I decide. This is just so damn strange (Stockett 363).
Im thinking, any normal person would automatically fie on a woman biding for her husband. But I forgot Miss Celia is not a normal person (Stockett 373).
You can tell that Skeeter is kind of sad that she and Stuart broke up. Even though she doesnt really say it, some of the things she mentions about her feelings are connecting to her break up with Stuart. Aibileen is pretty excited for this book.
Minny is in shock when Celia defends her from the crazy white naked man. After Minny telling Celia about Hilly still liking Mr. Johnny, Celia doesnt respond as a normal person would. She decides to talk to Hilly and tell her that she wasnt the reason why Mr. Johnny broke up with her (Hilly). Discussion Question: Write three or more questions that you think are important to think about. You may or may not have answers to these ahead of time. Use your Critical Thinking/Blooms Taxonomy hand-out. 1.) How does Skeeter feel now that she doesnt talk to her group of friends? 2.) How did Minny feel when Celia protected her by attacking the crazy white man? 3.) Do you think Mr. Leefolt knows something about Aibileen and Skeeter?
Prediction: What may happen next? Celia might realize that she looked like a joke at the benefit. Stuart and Skeeter might talk again?
