Internship Petition Form
Instructions: This form must be completed by MasterCard Foundation Scholars who wish to do their
home-country internship after their sophomore year rather than after their junior year as recommended
by program staff at ASU. If this applies to you, please fill out this form and submit to the director by May
12, 2014. We believe that doing an internship in your home country after your junior year is preferable
because: (1) you are better prepared and more competitive for internship positions after 3 years of
study; (2) networking and building relationships with potential employers after your third year of study
has the potential to open job opportunities upon graduation. Use this form to explain why your
preference is to do an internship back home after your sophomore year and how you expect that this
decision will contribute to your give-back and go-back plan. The director will review the form as soon as
possible upon submission and will grant approval on a case-by-case basis. Any questions will be
addressed prior to the decision.
