ASSIGNMENT II
For this assignment, I gained some information about a child with special needs and in
this report I will mention about her disability, health care and education. Also, I had some
time to spend with this child.
The child I have researched about is a girl and she has a hearing disability. Her hearing
disability is mild hearing loss, which allows her hear to some degree. Also, she has problem
with speaking. She speaks with a very high sound and used very limited number of words
during the conversation. However, she is very talkative and she tries to tell herself until she
can achieve this. In addition to this, she uses a very basic sign language and she draw
something on a paper her words if she cannot achieve to tell herself orally. In terms of health
care, she goes hospital for checking her hearing problem at regular intervals and her family
takes care of her health care mostly and tries to support her with many ways.
In terms of her education, she studies in a special school for hearing disability children
and she also continues a special education and rehabilitation center at weekends. For this
child, it is offered education for different areas like language, hearing, math, and social
communication. In terms of language education, she can repeat the words and she can use
monosyllables at that moment. However, with the help of language education, it is aimed that
she will make sentences more than two words, she will repeat the sentences and also she will
use disyllables.
In terms of her hearing education, she is able to aware the sounds and she can
recognize the voice of speaking at that moment. With the help of education, it is aimed that
she will be able to understand directions which are given her and she will be able to act

according to these directions in addition that she will recognize the voice of words which are
said to her.
When it is considered her math ability, she can count the numbers from 1 to 9 now.
However, it is aimed that she will recognize some geometric shapes and she will able to count
number one by one rhythmically and start to recognize these numbers.
In terms of her social development, it is said that she can show by using her jests and
mimics that she is listening to the speaker and she tries to understand him/her. Also, when
someone tries to communicate with her, she generally gives reactions him/her in a positive
manner and tries to understand what is said. In the similar ways, she initiates a
communication with others and continues. With help of her education, it is aimed that she will
able to attend in group work and takes some responsibilities in this group and discharge her
responsibilities. She will be able know her needs and interests and she will be able ask
questions so that she can gain information. In the similar way, she will be able to answer the
questions which are directed to her. Moreover, it is aimed that she will be eager to attend in a
group work without any force and also she will be able use some words which are used for
greeting and saying good bye.
