TRAVEL ADVISORY
TRAFFIC PATTERN TO CHANGE ON I-81 OVER ROUTE 970K (RICES ROAD),
JEFFERSON COUNTY
The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is reminding motorists that
work has begun on the project to replace the bridges carrying I-81 over State Route 970K
(Rices Road) in the town of Watertown, Jefferson County and traffic patterns have changed.
The crossover on I-81 is expected to be put in service on Friday, May 9 with traffic being
reduced to one lane in each direction. Southbound traffic will be moved over using the
crossover and all traffic (both north and southbound) will be using the northbound bridge for
the remainder of the season.
