Student Needs Chart

Student Description of Student How are you applying your knowledge and skills to meet the unique
cognitive, behavioral, and/or cultural needs of each student?
Greyson Greyson is a high achieving student.
He is creative and curious, which
leads him to be very talkative on
occasion.
The first, and usually only, step take with Greyson is placing him ne!t to
students in the class who will not fuel his side conversations. also place him ne!t
to students who are not as engaged with the sub"ect as he is.
#hoebe
#hoebe is a student who openly
complains about most class work
and activities. She has many days
where she is constantly talking to
her neighbors and has checked out
of Spanish class. She also has an
easy time picking up the new
language
$y first action has been to move her to the front of the class ne!t to non%talkative
students. This has helped with her attention in class. also have their grade
based largely on participation. have a reward system in place for the whole class
where they receive &uros for participating. f have a lot of issues with #hoebe
that day, will ask her to speak with me after class. will ask her how much of the
daily amount of &uros she thinks she should receive. This gives her a voice in the
conversation and allows me to see how much she is self%reflecting about her
behavior. f she is having a good day and is raising her hand to participate am
sure to call on her and give her a lot of praise.
$att C
$att is a very 'uiet student who
does not willingly participate or
speak Spanish in class. think he
gets very nervous speaking in front
of the class. He is also very
distracted during class either talking
to a neighbor or "ust day dreaming.
have moved $att to the front of the room and placed him by a student who is
very focused on class and Spanish. This allows me to keep a better eye on him
when am talking to the group as a whole. also will ask him 'uestions one on
one when have the students working individually. This allows me to do some
assessment from the lesson without putting him on the spot in front of the whole
class.
(ayla
(ayla is a very social person who is
constantly talking with whoever is
around her. She also seeks
attention by trying to be the class
clown.
have ad"usted where (ayla sits and have placed her in the front. This means
she is directly surrounded by less people to talk with. can more easily see if she
is turned around talking with a classmate. also give her "obs during class and
ask her to participate a lot in class. This helps her to get attention but for her
participation and not for her "oke telling.
Hunter
Hunter is a student with a very low
attention span. He puts forth little
effort during class unless there is
group work being done. He also will
talk to his neighbors a lot )especially
Tyler*.
have moved Hunter to the front of the class and away from one particular
student who he misbehaves with the most, Tyler. This has helped immensely.
also bring his name up a lot during class. f am teaching the word +point, for
e!ample, will say in Spanish +class, point at Hunter,. This gets his attention and
lets him know see that he is not paying attention without calling him out in front
of the class.
Tyler
Tyler is a very spirited individual. He
has a very, very short attention span
and has a lot of trouble focusing. He
does a lot of talking to his neighbors
during class )especially Hunter*.
have moved Tyler away from Hunter. This has helped a lot. have also placed
him by non%talkative students and this has seemed to help as well. try to change
up what am doing very fre'uently in this class. This helps with many students
who have trouble paying attention. change the activities every -.%-/ minutes.
also tend to use him as an e!ample student if am teaching a new word or phrase
and need a volunteer. He is very willing to be a volunteer and take advantage of

this. f he is in the front of the room as the center of attention, it helps him to
focus.

energy student. He is also a student
who is a at a lower maturity level
than his peers. This leads to a lot of
blurting out and sporadic behaviors.

and not near other talkative people. also have had to pull him aside after class
and have a heart to heart about how his behavior affects other students. He is
also a student that benefits from my method of changing the activity or topic every
-.%-/ minutes. He is also 'uick to ask a lot of 'uestions and try to answer all of
