FALL 2009 “SCENES SHOWCASE” on

This event is FREE and open to friends and family of the
participating artists.
This Showcase is designed to feature in leading roles many of the young
artists who participated in our Standard Repertoire Project in smaller roles
or in the ensembles. Scenes were selected from operas that are considered
staples of the standard repertoire, to maximize the utility of the roles being
learned. Preparing these scenes gives them the opportunity to conduct an
in-depth, guided study of principal roles with which they will need to be
familiar as their careers advance. Detailed text analysis and character
study accompanies all of the vocal coaching that goes into bringing each role
onto the stage. Their work on these scenes thus lays a solid foundation for
their future study.
