Learning Objectives: Students will create a drawing of a vase while paying

attention to shadows cast from lighting. They will identify positive and negative
spaces.

New skills and knowledge acquired during lesson: Students learned how to use
shading to create space and dimensionality in their drawings. Afterwards, they used
their Studio Habit of Mind: Envision, in order to turn their shapes into anything they
chose. While some student made the decision to fill their shapes as vases with
flowers, others added details to their vases and some even turned their shapes into
dragons.
