Set and Reset function:

Symbol.
Timing diagram.
Truth Table

Symbol:

This is the symbol for set and reset function and I will learn the trainees
each connection for set and reset. In this type we have two inputs: Set and
Reset and outputs is Q . The SR can also have a Par input for a level
driven circuit as opposed to a pulse driven circuit.

Timing diagram:
This is the Timing diagram for set and reset function this is very important
to learn the trainees to learn what is happen if R has Pulse and what is
happen if S has Pulse.

Symbol Connection Description

Input R The input R resets the output
Q to 0. If S and R are
both 1 at the same time,
then the output is reset
Input S Input S sets the output Q to
1.
Parameter Par This parameter is used to
switch retentivity on and off.
Rem:
off = no retentive feature
on = the state can be stored
retentively
Output Q Q switches on when S does
and remains on until the input
R is set.

Truth table:

The operation of an SR is as follows: The Set input will make Q go to 1. will
'set' the output. The Reset input will make the output Q go to 0. reset the
output.
The scenario of having both Set and Reset at logic 1 is not allowed as this
is not a logical pair of inputs.
