Related Experience
Student Teacher at Lebanon High School August 2013 to December 2013
Student taught under the supervision of Heather Lape, head of the special education department at Lebanon
High School gaining experience in multiple inclusive settings as well as in a resource classroom.
My caseload consisted of 15 students with mild to moderate exceptionalities.
The first half of the day was spent co-teaching in an inclusion classroom, and the second half with students in
a resource room setting, teaching the essentials of physical science.
Tutoring at Various Schools August 2012 to Present
Currently tutoring a fifth grade student from Talawanda School Districts Kramer Elementary to help him
improve his reading abilities by implementing an intervention that will help him to develop his reading
fluency and gain competence as a reader.
Tutored at-risk teens from Talawanda High School through a program at Miami University, working with a
sophomore student that struggled to find the motivation to stay in school. We worked through various
assignments and also talked about what she wanted to do in the future, which motivated her to finish school.
Work Experience
General Laborer at Metal Coaters, Ohio May 2012 to Present
Work in a metal painting and coating factory in Middletown, Ohio as a general laborer. Initially, my job
tasks included remodeling the office space, tiling floors, painting walls, and installing ceiling tiles. As time
progressed, my job has been more geared towards continuous improvement within the safety department,
auditing spill kits, painting machines and tour routes in the factory.

Sandblaster and Coater at Cetek Ceramics Inc. July 2013 to Present
Work for a ceramics company that goes into oil refineries to sandblast tubes in heating units, clean them, and
apply a ceramic coating to the tubes. Employment with this company began in the Chevron Oil Refinery in
Richmond, California in August 2013 for one month and returned in February 2014 for one week.
Server at Applebees Neighborhood Grill and Bar December 2012 to June 2013
Served food and drinks to customers in the Hamilton restaurant location. Duties included greeting guests,
taking their orders, serving the food to their tables, and a list of small jobs that had to be done by the end of
the shift. Worked under the supervision of a manager and often helped out the other servers.
Volunteer Experience
Volunteer Young Life Leader January 2011 to Present
Volunteered on average 15 hours a week leading a high school ministry group at Lebanon High School,
where relationships were built with high school students which provided them with the opportunity to learn
about the life of Jesus Christ. My involvement within the group ranged from talking with students in a one
on one setting, to leading small group discussion of five to fifteen people, as well as led large group
gatherings of twenty to sixty high school students and collaborated with a team of four to eight adult leaders.
Volunteer Tutor at Babeck Elementary August 2012 to June 2013
Volunteered in a first grade inclusion classroom within Edgewood School District, working with one student
every Friday on building reading skills, with a focus on phonics, as well as motivation and behavioral skills.
Student Aide August 2004 to June 2010
Spent time as a student aide in a resource room at Edgewood Middle School while in the seventh and eighth
grade. This continued throughout my four years at Edgewood High School and provided me with
experience working with students with exceptionalities.
