Adaptive delta modulator

Theory of operation :
- Adaptive delta modulation (ADM) is a modification of
DM.
The quantization errors due to slope overload and
granular noise is minimized by making the step size
variation adaptive.
Thus by varying the stepsize in accordance with this
principle, the delta modulator is enabled to cope
with changes in the input signal.
- Depending upon the output of one bit quantizer:
If one bit quantizer output is high(i.e. 1) the step size
may be increased for the next sample.
If one bit quantizer output is low (i.e. 0) the step size
may be reduced for the next sample.
Advantages :

SNRQ improves in comparison to Delta Modulation.
As ADM has variable step size its dynamic range is wider
than the DM.
