Anderson-Livsey Elementary School

Classroom Management Outline 2014-2015

Teacher: Clarke Grade/Area: 2
nd
Grade

Summary of classroom rules / expectations:
Student expectations are high in second grade. Our goal is to achieve 80% or higher in all
subjects. I have each child sign an academic contract and we discuss the importance of goal-
setting. Then, I reinforce the Anderson-Livsey Code of Conduct each day.
Consequences for choosing not to comply:
I have a chart on my whiteboard that has E, S, N, & U. All students start at Excellent. Their
sticks are moved upon each infraction. The students can go back to a previous letter
providing their work ethic and behavior has greatly improved. From this point, the highest
grade they can receive is an S. I use this information to write in the students agendas for
their behavior conduct grade.
Summary of encouragement / reinforcement plan:
I believe in rewarding students who continue to follow directions and behave appropriately.
I pass out Star Bucks and have my own set of raffle tickets. I give prizes to several
students who have been model students for the week.
Methods used to contact parents regarding behavior problems:
I write in the agenda every day except for Friday. The Star Card report goes out on Fridays in
the Friday folders. Please look out for it. I will call parents if there is a serious problem and
discuss the issue them over the phone. In most cases, I will call and leave a message,
followed up with an email. Then, I will follow-up within the parent the next day.
Discipline Duo or Trio Partner: Students who repeatedly are off-task will be sent to a buddy
teachers room. In addition, further action may result:
1) Contact parents
2) Loss of recess
3) Note/Letter in agenda book
4) Referral to administrator
