TIME TRAVELER RETURNS

IMAGES FROM THE TRIP
Renowned archaeologist Francis
Carlos has just returned from his time
traveling trip to the land of Nubia, specifically
the kingdom of Kush.
The civilization was a reckoned
force, having its rule changed multiple times
by multiple people. It is situated in the
halfway point of Africa and the Middle East,
south of Egypt.
His journey took him to the time
period of around 200 A.D. The Kushites had a
mixed culture, having styles of their own
mixed with Egyptian as well. Some of the
things they borrowed from Egyptians were
the mummification processes, the pyramid
schemes, their hieroglyphics and other
formats of writing, etc. In the picture above,
a group of Nubian kings known as the Black
Pharaohs are standing in a group, showing
basic forms of mummy depictions from the
Kushites. But not all of the Egyptian culture
was copied. One thing that the Kushites kept
their own was their style of clothing. You
could see in the picture of the beads one
example of what the Kushites might have
worn. Also, in the lower picture, smaller
models of Nubian archers, greatly valued
soldiers by the Egyptians are shown. The
reason of this blend of cultures is that the
Egyptians and the Kushites went back and
forth taking turns ruling each other.
Over the period of the survival of
the Kushites, Egypt would always conquer
the kingdom, but Kush would always rebel, a
few times even ruling over Egypt. Not much
is known about the sciences and technology
of Kush, but through his journey Dr. Carlos
presumed that Kush had semi-advanced
levels of math they were solving, as well as
higher levels of writing, basic astronomy, etc.
This time travel was a relatively successful
trip, and more has been hoped to be
planned.
