Facade Design Engineer Consultancy UAE

I have an opportunity to join a young, specialist faade consultancy based in Dubai. They have only
been established since 2011 and have already grown the team 12 technical staff. They only focus on
facade engineering consultancy. Most of their clients are architects, developers.

They have is some of the very best projects in Dubai (about 5 big ones just around Burj Khalifa, many
in Business Bay, some in other GCC countries), hence great professional opportunity, plus good
working environment with open minded management. They also maintain a pretty good reputation
and growing acknowledgement in the profession.

Due to the continued success of the company they now have a requirement for a Faade Design
Engineer.

Role would include:
Review of calculation submissions from contractors
Preparation of preliminary calculations based on BS and American standards including: wind
load calculations, glass thickness checks, sizing of aluminium framing, structural sealant
sizing, engineering of secondary steelwork, anchors, embeds, tensioned cable support
systems, structural glass floors, glass fins and beams, GRC/ stone/ terracotta cladding
checks, metal cladding design.
Development of different working system concept options for large span glazed walls,
skylights, and other large structures.
Assistance in project management or project management
Preparation of site inspection reports, test witness reports, failure investigation reports
Related project documentation
Consultancy tasks based on individual capabilities

Requirements:

MSc or BSC in Civil or Structural Engineering
Westerner preferred
2-3 years work experience with facade contractor or consultant
Can use Strand7/ Straus or SAP 2000
Stable work history
Good English
