Wayne Ivey and Sammy South both served as deputies for the Tishomingo County Sheriff's Department when they passed away. 2014 Wayne Ivey-Sammy South "D.A.R.E." Memorial Scholarship Winners Announced
Sheriff Glenn Whitlock is proud to announce the recipients of the 2014 Wayne Ivey- Sammy South "DARE" Memorial Scholarship. Each year, two graduating seniors are selected from both Belmont High School and Tishomingo County High School.
The 2014 Belmont High School recipients are Clay Keeton, the son of Jimmy Keeton and Karson Moody, the daughter of B J Moody and Amber Whitehead.
The Ti shomi ngo County Hi gh School recipients are William Jackson Haines, the son of Michael and Mary D Lambert and Jacey Shaye Borden, the daughter of Jessie and Julie Jones.
The scholarship recipients are selected by teachers, school resource ofcers, and D.A.R.E. instructors. Each scholarship winner is awarded $250.00 to be sent to their selected college to help pay education related expenses.
