FRED GARCIA FOR MONTEREY COUNTY SHERIFF

(SALINAS, CA) Fred Garcia, candidate for Monterey County Sheriff, has been
endorsed by the Monterey County Probation Association. In a mailer released by the
campaign, it was inadvertently stated that he was endorsed by the Monterey County
Probation Department. The correct endorsement is the Monterey County Probation
Association.

In a statement released from representatives of the Monterey County Probation
Association:

"The Monterey County Probation Association proudly endorses Fred Garcia for
Monterey County Sheriff. Fred has the integrity, experience and qualifications that
make him the choice to be Sheriff of Monterey County.

The Probation Association currently represents approximately 198 sword Probation
Officers for Monterey County.

"I am honored to have the endorsement of the Probation Association and the
support of its members, Mr. Garcia stated when notified of the endorsement. With
29 years of proven management and leadership experience, it is a very rewarding
feeling to see that my peers in the law enforcement community believe in my
abilities to lead the largest law enforcement agency in Monterey County in a positive
direction. I thank them very much.
