Be able to balance chemical equations


Be able to distinguish between a combination, decomposition, and/or a combustion reaction
Be able to calculate formula and molecular mass
Be able to calculate the percentage of an element in a molecule from the chemical formula
Be able to use Avogadros number and the mole in a calculation
Be able to calculate the molar mass of a substance
Be able to do calculations which interconvert between masses, moles, and number of particles
Be able to state the difference between and give examples of an empirical formula and a molecular formula
Be able to use a balanced chemical equation to calculate quantitative chemical information. Grams, moles,
number of particles, etc...
Be able to determine which reactant is the limiting reactant in an equation
Be able to calculate the theoretical and percent yields
