1or rigid rotors with * correction planes, halve these values.
$here ' ( ma,imum permissible out of balance g.mm/kg
) ( ma,imum continuous speed of rotor revolutions
d. 2pon receipt of 3ob for balancing, the operator will measure the component. 4n the case of a
hub, the bore will be measured and a suitable mandrel selected.
e. 5otor shafts
The bearing seatings shall be measured. 4f it is not possible to achieve a selection of the bearing
diameter on the vernier scale, the operator shall refer to his supervisor.
f. All final stress relieving shall be carried out before dynamic balancing is performed.
g. The assembly will be mounted on the machine in accordance with the manufacturer's
instructions 0 initial speeds selected as required.
h. The assembly need not include a half coupling for dynamic balancing, but shall then include a
half key, and the coupling shall be independently dynamically balanced.
i. 4nitially, balancing will be carried out using trial weights to assess the likely final weights and their
positions.
3. 2pon completion of balancing, the indicated weights shall be corrected either by welding weights
on or by removing material. 4n the case of mild steel, the welding shall be carried out by the
operator. All other materials shall be welded by a qualified welder.
k. $here the indicated imbalance is minimal or if requested by the customer, it is permissible to
remove material by grinding to achieve the required quality of balance.
l. 2pon completion, a balancing certificate shall be completed.
