Rayan's teacher observed that in April he had been practicing pulling himself up using tables and chairs, and would stand instead of sit when placed on the floor, showing his developing gross motor skills. When getting himself back down, Rayan also demonstrated problem solving skills. The teacher plans to continue encouraging Rayan's skills by placing him near furniture and praising his efforts, in line with the goal of children gaining confidence and control of their bodies.

Rayan, I have seen you pulling yourself up by the table and the chairs a lot this month. You showed me how confident you were by having big smiles on your face after you pulled yourself up. Sometimes when I put you down on the floor, you prefer to stand up instead of sitting which showed me your in practicing your gross motor skills. You have figured it out how to get back down on the floor again, which was also great to see you developing your problem solving skills.
Where to from here:
I will keep encouraging Rayan to pull himself up by placing him near the furniture and the metal bars. I will also build up Rayans confidence by giving him lots of praises.
