OVERALL INFORMATION Childhood obesity is becoming one of the biggest epidemics in the world today. The behaviors of children can really trigger how the interact with their classmates. Arguing about a certain activity takes time away from the activity itself. The unpleasant experiences involving poor sportsmanship have caused a lack of physical activity, increasing their risk for serious health problems. Be sure that you set realistic expectations for them- mentally and physically
The concept of win at all costs is unrealistic and it creates an unhealthy environment for children. At this age, whenever children hear lets play a game their ultimate goal is to win. As a teacher, teach the children that everyone is a winner and its more important to have fun than worry about the competition. Kids knowing that its a competition will either not want to partake or their self-esteem will be affected. --POSITIVTY is important!
