Answer ALL the Questions

1. Define Kirchoff’s laws.

2. What is the difference between unilateral and bilateral elements?

3. Define D’ alembert principle

4. What is meant by rms value?

5. State Millman’s theorem.

6. State maximum power transfer theorem.

7. What is meant by zero input response?

8. Draw poles and zeros of the transfer function.

9. Write any two applications of turned coupled circuits.

10. Show the effect of K on the selectivity and peak of Vo in double


turned circuits.
PART – B (5 x 12 = 60)
Answer All the Questions

11. Determine the current through the 100V source in fig.1 shown
below.

12. Determine the current through 4Ω resistor of the network shown
in fig.2 using mesh analysis method.

13. A coil of power factor 0.6 is in series with a 100µ f capacitor


when connected to a 50Hz supply. The potential difference
across the coil is equal to the potential difference across the
capacitor. Find the resistance and inductance of the coil.

14. Determine the value of capacitor in the network shown in fig.3 to
yield resonance.
15. State and prove thevenin’s theorem.

16. Use super position theorem to find current in 2Ω resistor
connected between A and B in the circuit shown in fig. 4 below.

17. In the circuit shown in fig.5 below the switch is closed at time
t = 0 and there is no initial charge on either of capacitors. Find
the resulting current i(t) using laplace transformations.

18. Determine the driving point impedance z(s) for the network
shown in fig.6
19. Determine the line currents for the unbalanced delta connected
load of fig.7. Assume the phase sequences to be RYB and E =
200 Volts.

20. In the coupled circuits shown in fig.8 find the voltage across 5Ω
resistor.
