In the history of IEM Katowice, Gambit Gaming has won all 7 seasons in
this championship, however after a disappointing loss to North
Americas Cloud 9 HyperX they fell to fourth place leaving with 14,000$.
KT Rolster Bullets ( Korea) the underdogs and the dark horse of this
tournament had a convincing victory over Fnactic from Europe claiming
the first place from them in a best out of 5 series, leaving with the grand
prize 60,000$.
Starcraft II
Last season of IEM Katowice Intel Extreme Masters champion in
Starcraft 2 herO, was expected to win again after a perfect record of
losing 0 games last year. However this season a new champion has
risen to the crown, sOs.
With an impressive record of 13 wins and 3 losses sOs takes the title
of the best Starcraft 2 player with the grand prize 100,000$.
sOs has shocked the crowd after beating the undefeated herO 4-1 (best out of 5), sOs has shown
outstanding performance throughout the tournament but has shown a few weaknesses but nonetheless
he is the king of Starcraft 2 of season 8 IEM Katowice Intel Extreme Masters.
