Today marks a week when I started the internship at Bethesda Rehab & Health Facility. The first day I was extremely nervous but I tried my best to look at the patient as they were my grandparents. For some strange reason, I felt restricted to help out the patient. I was just waiting for the GNA to instruct me. As the days gone by, I was able to work comfortably with them through the help of the GNA. With the experience, I was able to grow an insight into my career as a nurse. Throughout my life, I always wanted to be the one caring for patients. Being able to do the hand on action, I came to realize how the work was much harder than I expected it to be. Despite the realization, I wouldnt want to change my career. I was able to grow in love in what I do. I gained more determination in reaching my CNA license. All I want to do is to give the patient the care they deserved. When I was talking with one of the patients, I was able to change her life in a way I always wanted to do since I was little, giving them hope. Seeing a smile on her face made me feel like I won the lottery. I couldnt help to think how you can actually make a difference with someone with just a conversation. I couldnt be happier in the decision I have made to go to Thomas Edison Medical program. This has truly been a great opportunity.
