Lesson Summary: This lesson will continue the practices of body and mind, and
conclude.

Yoga

Yoga is the process of reversing an outward flow of energy and consciousness, to
help have the mind become a dynamic place of direct inner perception and
capability to experience Truth. The term yoga means to unite, the exercise
includes s a combination of exercise, breathing and meditation. Research has shown
benefits of yoga include lowering blood pressure, reducing stress response,
increasing; strength, flexibility endurance, immune response and improves
concentration, along with other health benefits. Yoga is used to treat patients with
deployment-related stress and PTSD.

Hypnotherapy

Hypnosis has been used as a useful practice for pain reduction in cancer patients,
but is mainly used in areas of anxiety, insomnia, pain management and
psychosomatic disorder and other stress related illness'.
The following is a list of what hypnotherapy maybe helpful or used towards:

Anxiety
Depression
Grief
Trauma
Chronic Pain
Addiction
Phobias
Overweight and Obesity
Irritable Bowel Syndrome
Sleep Disorders

What Happens In Hypnosis:

Induction. During this phase, the therapist aids the individual in focusing the mind
using verbal cues and visual imagery.

Deepening into a hypnotic state. This includes three levels:
1. Hypnoidal: light hypnosis with fluttering eye movements
2. Cataleptic: slightly deeper hypnosis with eyes moving from side to side
3. Somnambulistic: during this deep state of hypnosis, the eyes roll up and
back; the best results are usually achieved during this state.
Utilization. A posthypnotic suggestion, or a suggestion that details the desire
outcome, is verbalized during this phase.

Termination. The individual is asked to slowly come back to a conscious state,
sometimes by listening to the therapist count backwards.

CONCLUSION:

Mind-body techniques are based on the theory that mental and emotional factors
can influence physical health. Behavioral, psychological, social, and spiritual
methods are used to preserve health and prevent or cure disease.
