RESOLUTION NO. 2014-002
RESOLUTION CALLING FOR THE APPROVAL OF THE RULES OF COURT (2014) OF
THE ATENEO STUDENT JUDICIAL COURT
WHEREAS, the Ateneo Student Judicial Court is the official judicial arm of the Sanggunian ng mga
Mag-aaral ng mga Paaralang Loyola ng Ateneo de Manila, that hears and resolves any
complaint involving the constitutionality, legality, and jurisdiction of the acts and policies of
Sanggunian officials;
WHEREAS, Article XIII Section 9 of the 2005 Undergraduate Students of the Loyola Schools states:
The Student Judicial Court shall adopt its own Code of Internal Procedures, including Rules
of Court;
WHEREAS, Section 8 of the 2007 Rules of Court states: The Student Judicial Court Procedural
Rules may be amended by two-thirds vote of the Magistrates following a two week reading
period. When questioned or in cases of urgency, any item of the SJC Procedural Rules may
be suspended for any period of time not to exceed a semester by a two-thirds vote of the
Magistrates;
WHEREAS, the Magistrates of the Student Judicial Court have reviewed and drafted revisions for the
2007 Rules of Court from April 26, 2014 to May 17, 2014;
WHEREAS, the Student Judicial Court by unanimous vote of the Magistrates has approved these
Rules of Court (2014);
WHEREFORE, be it resolved that these Rules of Court (2014) be adopted and promulgated by the
Student Judicial Court. The aforementioned shall take effect seven (7) calendar days from its
promulgation through the Courts official media accounts.
