Welcome Math

Institute


We are happy to have you as part of our math learning community. We want to review some basics
for those of you who are new to our Math Institutes. You are eligible to receive 2 MSDE credits for this
course. Some of the requirements for obtaining your credits are:
You must attend all 9 sessions. You may have up to 1 excused absence but it must be approved by
your instructor and make-up work will need to be completed to receive this excused absence.
You must arrive to class promptly at 4:00 p.m. It is your responsibility to arrange coverage if you are
required to leave your building early. Class will end at 5:30 p.m.
All math institutes will be held at WCPS Central Office. Please check the video board when arrive to
obtain your room assignment.
Come prepared to class with all readings and assignments completed. You will need to bring your
Grade Level Overview Binder, Composition Book, and any assigned materials. The outside work
required of this course counts towards your credit approval so please remember to complete all
assignments.
As a participant in this course, we require that you share the information shared in class with your
team members at your school. This is your opportunity to assert yourself as a math leader within your
school.
