Another Fundraising Success for Brewer

Bob Brewer raised $94,652 during the latest reporting period, meaning he would have
outraised incumbent Bonnie Dumanis by more than double if not for a staggering $130,000
donation to the Dumanis campaign from the local Republican Party.

The latest reporting period covers March 18 through May 17. Subtracting the Republican
Partys donation, Dumanis raised only $44,782 during this period. Overall, Brewers committee
has now received $662,997, which includes a $96,000 loan from Brewer, compared to Dumanis
$582,885, which includes the $130,000 GOP donation. The latest numbers were made public by
the San Diego County Registrar of Voters today.

The latest fundraising totals are yet more evidence of the broad support for my campaign
and the desire for new leadership in the DAs office, Brewer said. With only 11 days to go
before the election, I couldnt be more optimistic.

Brewer has received endorsements from a broad base of supporters, including four former San
Diego-based United States Attorneys; two former California Attorneys General; Father Joe
Carroll; 98 percent of San Diego Countys law-enforcement associations; and the San Diego
Deputy City Attorneys Association, among other groups. In addition, more than 100 members
of the San Diego County Deputy District Attorneys Association voted to endorse Brewer.

Brewer was a respected prosecutor, serving as a Deputy District Attorney and Assistant U.S.
Attorney in Los Angeles including Assistant Chief of the Criminal Division prosecuting cases
involving espionage, bank robberies, narcotics, murder for hire and civil rights violations.

After seven years as a prosecutor, he entered private practice, specializing in government
investigations, civil fraud, business and commercial torts, health care fraud and intellectual
property disputes. He was selected as a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers
(representing the top 1 percent of litigators) in 1998 and received the Daniel T. Broderick
Memorial Award for Ethics and Civility in 2009. He held management positions at McKenna &
Cuneo, McKenna Long & Aldridge and was most recently Partner in Charge of the San Diego
office of the international law firm Jones Day, where he is still Of Counsel.
