Strategies I will take to accomplish this goal: (List or bullet strategies) All of my students will demonstrate growth in reasoning with numbers as evidenced by their growth in the CCPS grade 2 Reasoning with Numbers Assessment. The goal addresses the divisions goal of student achievement and academic excellence for all students. Additionally, after reviewing the current Reasoning with Numbers scores, the second grade team will be focusing on improving math concepts/ scores. Students who score 12 or fewer pts. at the beginning of the year, will meet the minimum proficiency target of 30 by the end of the year. ( 2 students) Students who score from 13-24 pts. at the beginning of the year will increase at least 20 pts by the end of the year. ( 11 students) Students who score from 25-34 pts at the beginning of the year, will increase at least 15 pts by the end of the year. ( 7 students) Students who score from 35 to 44 pts. at the beginning of the year, will increase at least 10 pts. by the end of the year. (3 students) Students who score more than 44 pts. at the beginning of the year, will increase at least 5 pts. by the end of the year and complete the 2012 Virginia Department of Educations Math Performance Test using the rubric provided. The students will improve by one or more points on the 4 point scale in at least one of the 3 areas (Problem Solving and Reasoning, Presentations and Connections, and Communication). (1 student)
