I, Syed Yusuf Saadat, ID 103 0172 0 20, a student of the economics department, am
delighted to inform you that I have registered for ECO 495, Supervised Research Paper, in
section 6 in this Summer 2014 semester.
I have previously done two courses with you: ECO 380, Industrial Organization, in Spring
2013 and ECO 417, Financial Economics in Fall 2013. I have also registered for your course
ECO 455, Economic Research, in this Summer 2014 semester. I am looking forward to your
ECO 455 lectures as they will be greatly helpful to me for my research paper.
I joined NSU in fall 2010, during your term of office as the chairman of the economics
department. Although I have had the opportunity to do only two courses with you, you have
never failed to inspire me. Your eloquent lecture notes have helped me tremendously in
courses such as ECO 101 and ECO 317. I have always admired your down to earth
personality and unorthodox sense of humor and have been in awe of the depth of your
knowledge.
As per the requirement of my degree, I have to complete an internship or a supervised
research paper. I chose to do research since I have a passion for learning new things.
However, at this point in time I am like a lost ship in the ocean of economics which needs
assistance from a lighthouse. I would be extremely grateful to you if you would guide me in
my quest. I assure you that I will give my utmost effort to make sure that my work meets
your high standards.
Therefore, I would kindly request your honor to please allow me to proceed with my
supervised research paper under your guidance and oblige thereby.
