You are invited to a field day on weeds,
healthy native vegetation and pasture
management.
On demonstration will be weed
identification and control techniques,
healthy paddock design and tree and
pasture species identification.
The information will be presented by a range
of experienced speakers and is relevant to all
land owners, whether your property is small
or large, or if you own grazing animals or not.
We will be visiting two riverfront properties
which the owners have generously offered for
the discussion of typical property
management issues faced by local
landholders.
Both properties are about 12 hectares in size,
one has horses and alpacas, the other has a
few cattle. Both have typical weed control
issues such as lantana, tree-choking vines
and fireweed, as well as the usual challenges
of pasture management and stock nutrition.
Representatives of Logan City Council
and SEQ Catchments Ltd will be present
to discuss various services on offer to
assist landholders.
