Hooping/embroidering
Print the plan view on paper.
Print 1 copy of the picture on the printable fabric
in a ink jet printer. Use the plan view as a guide to
hoop the fabric correctly.
Hoop a tear away stabilizer. The rst colour is
cross marks that you embroider on the stabilizer,
this will be an aid for you to position the fabric
righ. Place the picture according to the plan view,
and baste in the hoop.
To check if you have positioned it correctly use the
step stitch-by-stitch function on your embroidery
machine, and step forward to the center of the rst
alignment cross. Compare the needle position to the
position of the cross on the plan view. If they do not
match, use the position buttons on the machine to
move the needle to the correct position. Step forward
through the other crosses in the same way. When
the alignment is correct, select the next color in the
embroidery and start to stitch out the embroidery.
Use colours according to the colour scheme.
(-If you have a 2170, 2144 or a 2140 you can use
the precise positioning to position the picture correctly.)
Preparation
Press the fusible interfacing at the back of all wool
pieces. Trim away the extra fabric around the
picture, leave 6 mm (1/4) all around for the seam
allowance.
Sewing:
Front of bag
Place the picture on the front piece according to the
layout and stitch in place using straight stitch.
Place the grey velvet ribbons horizontal (see layout),
make sure you hide the edge of the picture. Use the
Bi-level Topstich Foot and stitch along the two edges.
Use matching sewing thread.
Finally, stitch a ribbon vertically across the front
piece, hiding the edge of the picture.
The back of the bag is a solid piece of white wool,
it is not decorated.
Bag handle
Cut the ribbon 1 piece 25cm (10), 2 pieces 13cm
(5), 2 pieces 5cm (2). Fold the leather strap
around the rings and put them together with rivets.

turning the bag when its nished.
Assemble the bag
Sew the pieces of the bag together in the same way
as with the lining, but without the opening in the
side. Press.
Place the handle ends outside the top of the
sidepieces, according to illustration 2. Pin and sew
in place using straight stitch.
Place the bag inside the lining, right sides together,

make sure the handles are in between.
